How to use email forwarding

Email forwarding is a way to set up alternative email addresses that forward emails to your primary email address. For example, say you want to promote a sales email on your website where customers can reach out to you with a question. To make it simple, you can create an email alias like sales@yourcompany.com.au and use it on your site. The alias will then feed into whatever email address you choose to connect it to.

When you purchase a domain with Google Domains, you get email forwarding at no extra cost. This helps you connect with your customers and look professional while you're at it. You can have up to 100 aliases, and it's all included with your domain.

Setting up email forwarding is easy:

  1. Sign in to Google Domains and click the name of your domain.
  2. Open the menu and click 'Email'.
  3. Under 'email forwarding', enter the email address that will forward messages and also the primary address that will receive them.
  4. Click 'Add'.

That's all there is to it. Email forwarding is a simple way to enhance how you communicate with customers. You'll receive emails sent to the alias in your personal inbox. When you need to both receive and reply to emails from a custom address, and unlock other professional features, upgrade to Google Workspace.
